Google Finance

Google Finance(www.googlefinance.com) is a website that allow the user to keep up with their personal finances.  It can be used in a business setting to keep up with financial statements from the company and check stock prices.  As a student, I can use this to keep up with my finances.  It has a lot to offer such as a way to track my transactions.  Since it is on the internet, I can access it from anywhere.  In essence, I think this is a great tool.

Google Translate

Googletranslate( www.googletranslate.com) is a website that allow the user to enter a text or website and translate it in a different language.  This a good way to learn foreign languages.  This could be used in a Microsoft office power point presentation as well as a business setting when you are presenting a subject to a different culture.  As a student I can use this.  Going into the real world, you never know what culture you will encounter so it will  help me translate certain things.

Yelp

Yelp (www.yelp.com) is website that allow the user to find out things about certain cities.  Yelp can be used in a business setting to find out what place to go eat if you are on a business trip.  As a student this is very useful.  I don't travel a lot but when I do, this will be a great site to use. It will give me ideas of things to do while I'm in that city. In essence, I really liked this site.

Slide

Slide(www.slide.com) is a website that allow user to create a sideshow on the internet and can be accessed from anywhere. It can be incorporated into a Microsoft office document such as power point. It can be used to show pictures in a power point.  In a business setting it could be used to maybe show pictures from company trips. As a student I can utilize this in many ways.  I have many pictures that I can use and this website will allow me to get creative.  In essence, I liked this web tool.

NEWSEUM

Newseum(http://www.newseum.org/) is a website that allows the user to find the top stories across the world.  Newseum will be good in a report to show how  your newspaper differs from others.  This could be used in a business setting for adverstising purposes. As a student, I can always find out the local news if I'm away. As a result, I will  never miss the news. Overall, I think this tool is neat and convenient

Topsite

Topsite(http://www.topsite.com/) is a website that let you search for sites by subjects that interest you. This could be used in a business setting to search for competition.  I think this site will be very useful to me because it will show me the most trusted sites pertaining to the subject Im interested in. Overall, I think this is a great website

Googlemaps

Googlemaps(www.googlemaps.com) is a website that allow the user to find and get directions across the world.  It can be used in a Microsoft office document  and a business setting as a link to show different locations and how to get to them.  As a student I can use this for interviewing purposes.  For instance, if I have a job interview and I don't know where the place is, it will give me  turn by turn directions. In essence, I think this tool is great overall.

Academic Earth

Academic Earth(www.academicearth.com) is a website that  allow the user to view free online lectures pertaining to subjects they are interested in.  This tool can be incorporated into a Microsoft office power point presentation because it can be included as a link in the presentation. It can be useful for a business to  advertise for their company and show how they operate. In essence, this tool is okay because it really didn't have too many free lectures to view.

Googlelattitude

Google lattitude( www.google.com/lattitude) is a website that allow the user to find the location of friends and family.  This could be used in a business setting to find out where employees are located.  This would be great for students because it allows them the same access.  Students can find their friends if they get lost or need help.  Overall, I think this a great tool to use, especially if you are a parent.

LinkedIn

Linkedin(www.linkedin.com) is a professional facebook.  It allows the users to connect to jobs and companies on upcoming job offers.  This will be great for a business setting because it saves the time of searching for potential applicants through facebook or twitter.  This website gives you an online overview of a candidate and what they have to offer.  This would be beneficial to students because it allows them  to get connected with companies and find jobs. Overall, I think this is a great tool.

Stumbleupon

Stumbleupon(www.stumbleupon.com) is a website that lets users find websites according to what they like. This could be incorporated into a Microsoft office document and a business setting.  It can help find websites that would be beneficial to a company or business. It could be used in  power point presentations as a link to find website that would interest the user.  Overall, I like this tool and will be using it a lot.

Delicious

Delicious(www.delicious.com) is a website that let its users bookmark and retrieve their bookmarks from any computer. Delicious could be incorporated into a business setting and in a Microsoft office document to get to websites faster. This could help marketing companies  find what sites are popular. As a student I could use this for websites I always go on such as eagleapps, soar, blackboard, etc.  Personally the website is neat but I don't think it would be something I would use right now.

Zamzar

Zamzar(zamzar.com) is a website that allow the user to download videos from the internet to personal computers for easy access.  This can be incorporated into a Microsoft office document to show videos during a power point instead of including a hyperlink like I am use to doing.  Businesses will use this in many ways to download videos also for easy access.  Overall, I like this tool and will be using it again in the future.

Zillow

Zillow(zillow.com) is a website that allow the user to search for an address and find facts about that address. Zillow is a tool I found to be very interesting.  I was amazed at all the information it gave me about my neighborhood.This website can be used in a business setting to search for new areas to build a business.  It will give the entrepreneurs facts about the neighborhood before settling.  This can be incorporated into a Microsoft office document such as power point.  Overall, I like this tool and it provides more information than other search engines. 

Poll Everywhere

Polleverywhere(www.polleverywhere.com) is a tool that allows its user to take a live survey and receive instant results.  There are so many ways this could be used in a business setting or Microsoft office document.  For example, people can use this free polling to get suggestions or ideas when presenting a topic.  Overall, I think this is my favorite assignment.  It was so cool using this tool. I am going to incorporate this in my power points to come.

Slideshare

Slideshare(www.slideshare.net) is a tool that allow the user to share power point slides with others.  Slideshare can be incorporated into a Microsoft office document and in a business setting because it allows the user to access their power points from any location.  For instance, a lot of people save their Power Point on usb drives.  This tool gives the user  a back up plan in case they have forgot or lost their jump drive.  I think this tool is great.

Tag Galaxy

Tag Galaxy(www.taggalaxy.de) is a website that let the user search images by tags and get 3D results. This unique style of viewing pictures can be incorporated into a business setting and a presentation when doing a collage.  Overall I think this tool is okay because it is easy to use ,but it really didn't have too many things to offer in my opinion.

ChaCha

ChaCha(www.chacha.com) is a tool to use find quick and easy answers. This tool can be used in a Microsoft office document or business setting to incorporate an interactive learning experience such as quizzes and games.  I think the answers are reliable but you have to ask questions in simple form to get the answers you expect.  Overall I like this tool because it is free because other similar websites charge for their services.

Sumopaint

Sumopaint(www.sumopaint.com) is a website that lets the user edit photos and create photos.  This would be great for powepoints because if you have a picture you want to use, you can use this website to edit it and make it the color that best fit your powerpoint color.  I can't really think of a way it could be used in a business setting but overall I think this website is neat.

Toondoo

Toondoo(www.toondoo.com) is a unique website that give the user access to create comic book-like creations. For example:


This is a toondoo I created on technology. It was so easy to use and it bought out the creative side in me.  Tools like this would be great to use in business settings or in a Microsoft document because I think it will help explain something as if you were reading the funny papers. Overall, I liked this website.

Colorhunter

Color Hunter(www.colorhunter.com) is a very unique website that matches colors according to pictures you select. Color Hunter will be a great tool to use when given presentation at school or in a business setting because it will tell you colors that would match with a picture of your choice.  Taking the advice of Color Hunter would make the presentation or picture pleasing to the eye. Overall, this tool is a quick, easy, and sure way to having great color coordination.

Yola

Yola(www.yola.com) is a free website that lets users create easy to use websites.  This website will be beneficial to Microsoft Office documents users when given presentation because it shows how great the internet can be with a touch of a few icons.  Yola has many things to offer to a business setting because it saves time and money for creating other time consuming websites.  This site alone will help me showcase my talents because it easy to use and I can do a lot with this website when creating a web page with the touch of a button.  In  essence, I really like this tool because it is free and easy to use.

Cloud Computing

1. Cloud Computing is  internet based computing where you can upload and share resources.
2.Googledocs(www.google.com),Windowslive(www.windowslive.com),and Zoho(www.zoho.com) are creative websites used for cloud computing.  Googledocs is a website that you can use to upload document and retrieve them at any computer with internet.  Windowlive is a good website because you are able to upload documents and pictures and share with family members.  Zoho is the last website I was asked to use. This website was the one I found least impressive because it seemed hard to use at first because I had problems trying to create a document.
3.These services would be useful in a business setting because it allows you access from any computer without have to have a jumpdrive, compact disc, etc.
4.This is a great tool for Microsoft Office Suite because it allows users to have a back up and sure proof system while saving important files.
5.  Googledocs and Windowslive were the easiest tools to use in my opinion because the icons made it so easy to do different commands.  On the other hand, zoho was ok because it took me a while to get use to it. I found it to be rather difficult than the other websites.

Search Engines

1.Bing.com and Cuil.com
2.Search engines is fastest way to find things and can be beneficial for business settings because you can find things wihout a time constraint so it save time and money from using a phonebook etc.
3.Bing was pretty cool because everything came up so fast and Cuil was alrite because it seemed like it was so complicated to use because it have so much to choose from depending on what you are searching for.
4.I normally use google. Google is great but with the advancement of technology bing and cuil probaly has more to offer than google since they are new search engines.
5.I would choose bing just because it so much easier to use in my opinion than cuil is and have more to offer than google has.

Ustream

1. Ustream is an online tool that enables people to do live webshows etc.
2. This could be used in a presentation to show examples of the subject being presented.
3. This could be used in a business setting to have business meeting live and also it saves money.
4.This tool is really great because it allows people to advertise themselves for free and get feedback.
